Lovely cottage for a short break. Very peaceful and warm. Love the sunroom and the view across the valley. Also like the green ethos and all the bird feeders.

We have just stayed at the cottage, it is magical. From Woodpeckers at breakfast time to bats and Tawny Owls at bedtime...wonderful setting.

We stayed in this cottage in the summer and the poetic description is true. The nearby pub, the Radnorshire Arms at Beguiledy is a fabulous place to dine with a great atmosphere and great food

Can't think of a better view
We can't think of a better view than the sun room anywhere else we have stayed- and the same lovely view when brushing your teeth!

So much to do
What a perfectly peaceful and beautiful place, so much more to do here than first meets the eye we will just have to come back!
We do not want to go home!
Sat here writing with tears in the eyes. We do not want to go home! Everything about this holiday is superb, from the hosts to the cottage. Peaceful, welcoming, and beautiful views.

Beautiful cottage and countryside
How can we begin to describe the wonder of this beautiful cottage and countryside? Will be back as soon as we can.

A perfect stay
Only a short stay but had the most perfect time. The cottage is excellent in every way, and loved sitting in the sun room. Went to the Elan valley for a day round the dams, and a walk up Beacon Hill. A perfect stay. Thank you.

Just sitting here staringat the scenery, the sheep, the cows,& the birds you feel your whole body relax. Top class restaurants abound, we loved the Radnorshire Arms just up the road. Thank you both.

An idyllic home from home
We happened upon Rose Cottage due to its very reasonable price, but were so glad we did-it was one of our favourite cottages we've stayed in. The view from the balcony was just beautiful, and we all loved watching the wildlife from the sun room. Rose Cottage was fully equipped with everything you need and much more-the owners have really gone out of their way to make sure you have a great time. The folders of local info were incredibly detailed and very helpful. One thing to be aware of is that there is no mobile signal-however this was one of the pluses of the holiday for us, as it made it extra relaxing (we ended up doing one of the jigsaws provided!) We will definitely be back.

A holiday cottage that really is "home from home"
Ray and I are senior citizens and have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years but Rose Cottage tops the lot. Clean, comfortable and cosy on a wet day - and we had a few of those! Rose Cottage is ideally situated to visit many places and just a few of those that we enjoyed were: Stokeslay Castle, Elan Valley, Aberdovey and of course the many tea shops to stop on the journey as recommended by Marje.

Relaxing in stunning surroundings
We received a very warm welcome from the owners and were invited to meet their animals, dog, sheep, chickens and alpacas. The cottage is set in a peaceful and stunning location with fantastic views of the welsh hills. The cottage is very comfortable and very well equipped including binoculars to view the copious amount of wildlife, there is a river running at the bottom and a nice sun room from which to while away the hours. The front of the cottage backs onto the main road and the traffic speeds through the hamlet because there is no speed limit, it can be a bit noisy although the traffic is very light. The property is located midway between the towns of Knighton and Newtown and a lot of tourist attractions are within easy reach.

An absolutely perfect romantic getaway
Has just return from a lovely stay at Rose Cottage. We received brilliant service and everything in the cottage was a high standard. Would recommend it to anyone who are after a relaxing holiday, and has walking as an interest, as there are plenty of chances to experience the Welsh countryside.
All your amenities are within easy reach to the cottage.
We would say one of the best things about our stay was the peace and tranquility.

A warm welcoming home from home, a real joy for great holiday
We don't hesitate to recommend the comfortable and welcoming cottage, and the hospitality of Marje and John. If you are looking for a bit of peace and harmony away for the busy towns, but with the amenity of modern living, if you enjoy watching the various birds and the squirrels' antics or driving to stunning sites (Marje has left much information to inspire you)you could not hope for better accommodation. I have no doubt you will enjoy it as much as we did.

A home from home...
This was our third stay in Rose Cottage (the first as a family of three) and as always, we had a lovely week.
The cottage really does feel like a home from home and is situated in idyllic surroundings. The atmosphere is cosy and inviting and the house very well equipped. We were very comfortable having our seven month old baby there as there was room for her to crawl around safely in the sitting room and the spare bedroom had enough space for her travel cot.
One of the lovely things about Rose Cottage is the sun room, which boasts a stunning view over the hills opposite. This is a prime spot for watching the local wildlife and our daughter had great fun watching the squirrels feeding, whilst she was having her breakfast every morning. We also saw a woodpecker, plenty of sheep and a heron by the river at the bottom of the garden.
There are lots of things to do and see around the area, without having to spend too long in the car. There are also plenty of beautiful walks or you can just spend the day relaxing in the cottage, reading books, watching films or playing games.
The Rickerby's are always so warm and welcoming and happy to answer any questions or advise on the best places to go. We also love seeing their sheep, alpacas and chickens being fed at dinner time, although our daughter wasn't so sure!
We love spending a restful week at Rose Cottage and will certainly be booking our next holiday there soon.
